The Community of Mutual Delight

In the Old Covenant, outside of the promised land, Joshua and Caleb said to the congregation of the people of Israel:

"If the LORD delights in us, He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land that flows with milk and honey" (Numbers 14:8).

In the New Covenant, there is no longer an "IF the Lord delights in us, He will..."; He already unceasingly, exquisitely and eternally delights, rejoices, blisses, celebrates, feasts and pleasures in you in Christ.

You couldn't pass over into the promised land yourself for fear and rebellion. Therefore, He brought you into this land giving it to you--it is Himself, Jesus.

You have Him who is the King and Kingdom of milk and honey (all the blessed goodness, sweetness and richness of life).

You have no more striving to earn God's delight. You have the Lord of Eden (= Delight, Pleasure) living, reigning, resting, partying inside of you. You are His Paradise.  He is your Tree of Life in your midst.

It is only when you know that the LORD (Abba, Jesus and Holy Spirit) delights in you that you can fully live this pasasge:

"Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4).

He has delighted in you so that you may delight in Him.  He has given you the desires of your heart--Himself in His fullness without holding anything back.

You have been united in the centre of the community of mutual delight.  Right there Abba, Jesus and Holy Spirit look at you and say, "Behold My beloved in whom I delight!"
